Married couples are often pretty rare to find in anime. Most series focus on young love and high school crushes, and most end long before the main couple can even consider getting hitched. However, every now and then, anime gives fans something a little more mature. From pre-established married couples to relationships that take their love to the next level, anime has many iconic marriages.
These relationships often bring a new layer of depth to the story as the two characters develop together and overcome many of life’s hurdles as partners. Though this refreshing dynamic is few and far between, anime has some amazing married couples, and these are the very best of the bunch.

Though Kagome and Inuyasha aren’t even in a relationship throughout most of Inuyasha, there’s no denying that Inuyasha and Kagome are one of anime’s most iconic couples. They’re admittedly a pretty frustrating couple at times, especially given the amount of drama that occurs between them. Nevertheless, fans can’t help but love this relationship, and when Inuyasha and Kagome finally become a married couple by the end of Inuyasha, it’s nothing but satisfying.
9 Kaoru & Hajime Tsunashi (I Can’t Understand What My Husband Is Saying)
I Can’t Understand What My Husband is Saying is a wholesome rom-com series featuring a very unique married couple. Though they’re husband and wife, Hajime and Kaoru Tsunashi couldn’t be more different. While Kaoru is a hard-working and successful office worker, Hajime is a socially awkward otaku who makes money blogging. But despite living in almost completely different worlds, these two lovebirds are head-over-heels for each other.
As a result, this unlikely couple is the very definition of “opposites attract.” Because they’re so different from each other, Kaoru and Hajime’s married life isn’t always easy. However, these struggles only make them stronger, and together, they can get through even the toughest of life’s challenges.
8 Miku & Tatsu (The Way Of The Househusband)
At first glance, Miku and Tatsu from The Way of the Househusband seem like they could never work as a couple. However, they’re actually one of the cutest, most wholesome couples around. After turning away from the Yakuza life, Tatsu started over with Miku. Nowadays, he’s a stay-at-home husband and takes care of all the domestic work while his loving wife earns a living for them both as a successful businesswoman.

There are many amazing couples throughout the Dragon Ball franchise, but there’s no denying it — Vegeta and Bulma are easily the most iconic. Somehow, they just really make it work, and their love has made them both better than ever before. Vegeta especially has changed over the years, thanks to his relationship with Bulma. 1 Loid & Yor Forger (Spy X Family)
Spy x Family‘s Loid and Yor Forger are probably one of modern anime’s most beloved married couples. Technically, the two are only husband and wife out of convenience, with Loid needing a wife and child for his current mission and Yor simply trying to convince her brother that she’s well taken care of.
Loid and Yor may not be married out of love, but their relationship is still incredibly wholesome nonetheless. Fans can’t get enough of their interactions and the domestic life they’ve built together with their adoptive daughter, Anya. While the couple is hardly romantic so far, that hasn’t stopped fans from hoping that one day they’ll get together for real.
