The Marvel Cinematic Universe has introduced some of the most epic superheroes from Marvel Comics. These heroes face extremely dangerous villains just to make sure that others are able to live in a peaceful world. However, one of the best aspects of the MCU is that it shows other facets of the superheroes.
The audience can see how some MCU heroes who are also fathers struggle with balancing their family life and their superhero personas. Being a parent isn’t always easy, but when combined with having to save the world, it becomes more of a challenge. Still, the heroes of the MCU do their best, becoming some of the best dads on the big screen.
8 Alexei Shostakov
Alexei Shostakov, also known as Red Guardian, is the first Russian Super Soldier, and he worked together with Dreykov in the Red Room. When he was sent on an undercover mission to the United States, he became Natasha and Yelena’s adoptive parent alongside Melina Shostakov.
Since Natasha and Yelena were only little kids, Alexei was their only real father figure. Even though his role in the Russian government made him a terrible parent for a while, he redeemed himself in Black Widowwhen he helped Natasha and Yelena dissolve the Red Room.
7 Vision
Although Vision died before he and Wanda could form a family, the audience got a glimpse of what their family life could have looked like in WandaVision. Wanda recreated a reality where she and Vision lived the ideal life with their twin children, Tommy and Billie.
In this reality, as predicted, Vision was a loving and doting father. While none of it was real, there’s no doubt that Vision would have been a great father. He was wise, tender, and compassionate, all good qualities to have as a parent. It’s truly sad that Wanda and Vision never got their well-deserved happy ending.
6 Hank Pym
Hank Pym is one of the most brilliant scientists in Marvel, and he dedicated most of his life to Quantum Realm research. He and his wife, Janet Van Dyne worked together as the superheroes Ant-Man and the Wasp. However, this led to a stranded relationship with his daughter, Hope, when he couldn’t be honest with her about her mother’s death.
Still, Hank redeemed himself in Ant-Manwhen he told Hope the truth and started working in the Wasp suit. From then on, he has been a great father and his relationship with Hope has never been better. He’s now even a great grandfather figure to Cassie, as the two of them work together with Quantum technology.
5 Clint Barton
Clint Barton, also known as Hawkeye, is the only one of the Avengers with a traditional family, but he kept this information hidden for a lot of time for their protection. In Avengers: Age of Ultron the audience learns about his family home, where he takes the Avengers to keep them safe.
Clint is married to former S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Laura Barton, and together they have three children, Cooper, Lila, and Nathaniel. While it’s clear that Clint has a hard time finding quality time with his children due to his superhero duty, there are plenty of scenes that show how caring, sweet, and tender he is as a father.
4 Yondu Udonta
Yondu Udonta was a Centaurian and the leader of the Ravagers. When Ego hires Yondu to kidnap the children he left throughout the universe, Yondu kidnaps Peter Quill, but he doesn’t give him to Ego. Instead, he raises Peter as a son and a teammate.
Even though they have a rocky relationship, since Yondu doesn’t have real parenting skills, it’s clear that Peter and Yondu have a strong bond. In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Yondu even gives his life to save Peter, one of the most heartbreaking moments in the MCU.
3 Thor
In Thor: Love & Thunder, after Gorr’s death, Thor surprisingly becomes the adoptive parent of Love, Gorr’s daughter. At the end of the film, the audience gets to see Thor’s parenting skills, and while his methods may be unorthodox, he’s as cute a parent as everyone would have thought.
Thor and Love go on many adventures to protect different alien species, and they’re known across the universe as Love and Thunder. Thor and Love’s adorable dynamic combined with their zest for adventure could make them one of the most iconic duos in the MCU, so hopefully, Marvel will consider giving them more screen time.
2 Tony Stark
Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe saw Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, go from a selfish and hedonistic man to one of the husbands and parents in film. Throughout the Snap, Tony retires from superhero duties and has a daughter named Morgan with Pepper.
In Avengers: Endgameviewers get a glimpse of Tony and Morgan’s dynamic. They have an incredibly adorable relationship, to the point where they made the very popular phrase “I love you 3000.” This only makes the fact that Tony died saving the world more heartbreaking. There’s no doubt Tony isn’t only an amazing father, but also the best hero in the MCU.
1 Scott Lang
Ant-Man may not be the most popular superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it’s safe to say that throughout the Ant-Man franchise, he’s proven himself as not only the best dad in the MCU but possibly in film.
Unlike other superheroes, Scott perfectly balances his superhero life and his family life, without ever abandoning his daughter, Cassie. Ant-Man makes it obvious that Scott always prioritizes his daughter, and now in Quantumaniathey even became a superhero team.
