The latest game in the Franchise is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which was released in 2020.
Prelude To Assassin’s Creed 1 Ending
The Protagonist, Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad, is sent on a mission to kill nine individuals to redeem his mistake, which was a botched assassin mission to retrieve an ancient artifact, and regain his previous position and his honor by his mentor Al Mualim. The nine individuals he has to kill are:
- Tamir – Weapon merchant
- Garnier de Nablus – A mad doctor and the grandmaster of Knights Hospitalier.
- Talal – Leader of a gang that slaves people
- Abu’l Nuquod – Rich merchant and regent of Damascus.
- William V, Marquess of Montferrat – Cruel and Abusive regent of Acre.
- Majd Addin – A tyrant of Jerusalem
- Master Sibrand – A paranoid grandmaster of Knights Teutonic.
- Jubair al Hakim – A scholar of Damascus who wants to destroy all written knowledge.
- Robert de Sablé – A grandmaster of Knights Templar.
After Assassinating every nine individuals, Altaïr learns that all of them were Templars. They were searching for the Apple of Eden, a godly artifact and one of several Pieces of Eden. When Altaïr kills Sable, he learns that his mentor Al Mualim was also involved. He was working with the Templars to find the Apple. Sablé reveals that Al Mualim has betrayed both the orders to keep the Apple for himself. Altaïr was just a pawn in Mualim’s game to clear his enemy and achieve Apple.

The Ending of Assassin’s Creed 1 Explained
Altaïr heads back to Masyaf, where he finds the inhabitants under the control of Apple by Al Mualim. With some of the Assassins, he storms inside the Citadel and fights with his mentor. Al Mualim uses the power of Apple against Altaïr, which constrains him, or he has to fight all the nine individual’s illusions. Al Mualim resorts to single combat against Altaïr. Altaïr kills Al Mualim with his hidden knife. In his final moments, Al Mualim reveals that he was going to use the Apple to end the crusade and bring true peace to the world. Altaïr tells that he will destroy Apple so that it never falls in the hands of the wrong people. But he is unable to destroy it, but the Apple reveals the location of other Pieces of Eden around the world.
The game then pulls the player out of the past into the present, where Desmond Miles learns that Abstergo is the modern reincarnation of the Templar order, who is searching the Pieces of Eden. Dr. Vidic’s superior asks him to kill Desmond, as he has fulfilled his role to locate the Pieces of Eden. But Dr. Vidic’s assistant Lucy interrupts in between to keep Desmond alive as he can be useful in the future. After all the talks, Dr. Vidic and Lucy leave Desmond alone in the room.
Due to his long exposure in the Animus, Desmond is able to use the Eagle Vision of Altaïr due to Bleeding Effect. Using the Eagle Vision, Desmond is able to see the strange message or cryptic messages imprinted on the floors and walls. These Cryptic messages display the various ways and dates of the world ending. The game ends when Desmond goes to his room, and he sees several cryptic messages imprinted on the wall behind his bed. He wonders what those signs are and who wrote that, and the game rolls the credit scene.
What Are The Cryptic Messages in Assassin’s Creed 1?
There are many cryptic messages in the game. We will only talk about the important and recognizable ones from Assassin’s Creed 1.
The Square Letter, which is read from Bottom to Top and from Right to Left, which says, “Artefacts (British for Artifacts) sent to the skies to control all nations to make us obey a hidden crusade do not help them.“
Mayan Long Count calendar date, which translates to 21 December 2012, or 12.21.12. A world-ending reference.
“We are all books containing thousands of pages, and within each of them lies an irreparable truth.” Here the “books” are humans, and “Thousands of pages” are the ancestors and their memories, and “Irreparable truth” means all the deeds done by our ancestors in the past cannot be fixed or rewritten.
A bible reference in which god’s power over the world is declared, and they are omnipotent. It is a revelation by god.
