Japanese post rock/math rock band JYOCHO from Kyoto have announced a new video series “Machiya Session” uploaded on their YouTube Channel.
“Machiya” is a Japanese term for traditional wooden townhouses that have been typical of the old capital of Japan, Kyoto, and this series of acoustic sessions was shot at machiyas called Kangetsutei and Kan-un-an near the Philosopher’s Path, the most well-known path in Kyoto.
The band started this series for their fans all around the world to enjoy music and beautiful Kyoto scenes.
The first video is “pure circle” from their 1st album. There is an official music video of the song, so you can compare and enjoy listening to studio and acoustic versions of the math rock track.
