A fan edit transported Shrek‘s titular ogre to the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout 4.

YouTuber eli_handle_b.wav uploaded an edited video that showcases what might happen if Shrek took on the role of the Sole Survivor. The video depicts Shrek’s arrival to the Commonwealth and his subsequent meeting with its factions, such as the Minutemen, the Institute and the Brotherhood of Steel. Fans also commented on how the ogre looked strangely at home in the world of Fallout, with viewers claiming Shrek could likely pass himself off as an extremely intelligent super mutant to the inhabitants of the Commonwealth without any trouble.

Welcome to the Commonwealth

Released in 2015, Fallout 4 is the latest mainline entry into studio developer Bethesda’s massively popular Fallout series. It centers on the Sole Survivor, who was awakened from a state of suspended animation 210 years after modern civilization was destroyed during the outbreak of the Great War. Fallout 4 received favorable reviews following its launch, with critics praising its narrative themes, massive open world and improvements to the Fallout franchise’s gameplay. Bethesda also revealed a sequel was in production, with Fallout director Todd Howard previously confirming that the fifth mainline entry into the series was slated for release after the highly-anticipated The Elder Scrolls VI.

Shrek Will Return

As for Shrek, the popular ogre will reportedly return to the big screen sometime in the future. Actor Antonio Banderas, who played the fan-favorite Puss in Boots, stated that there will likely be another installment in the franchise. “I’ve been with [Puss in Boots] for almost 20 years,” the actor said. “The first time I did Puss in Boots, I was working on broadway, so I did my first session there. I’ve done five movies now. There is probably gonna be another, and Shrek is probably coming back.”

Fallout 4 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The upcoming sequel Fallout 5 has yet to receive an official launch date. Similarly, the rumored Shrek 5 has not revealed its intended release window.
