Plot

Fate: The Winx Saga’s storyline revolves around Bloom, a fairy with fire powers, who enrolls in a magical boarding school in the Otherworld called Alfea College. At the school, she shares a dorm with Stella, a light fairy, Aisha, a water fairy, Terra, an Earth fairy, and Musa, a mind fairy. At first, she makes friends with Aisha, Terra, and Musa but struggles to get along with Stella. Later, however, they too become friends, and with the help of her four new friends, she learns more about her past. Meanwhile, ancient creatures known as the Burned Ones have seemed to resurface in the Otherworld and threaten everyone at Alfea.

Bloom struggles with her fairy side as she was raised on Earth by human parents. Her adoptive mother, Vanessa Peters, was burned after an incident where Bloom lost control over her powers. She is a first-year student at Alfea and befriends Aisha first as they are roommates. She later discovers that she is a changeling. At first, she struggles to befriend Stella, who is a fashionable light fairy and the princess of Solaria. She is the only second-year student in their dorm, and she initially hates Bloom but later, the two become friends. The initial friction between Stella and Bloom is mainly caused due to Sky. Sky is the son of the late Andreas of Eraklyon, who is considered Alfea’s hero. He is a second-year Specialist student and the star of his class. He was raised by Silva, the fencing instructor at Alfea who was mentored by Andreas and is also Stella’s ex-boyfriend. Stella gets annoyed when he begins to show an interest in Bloom.

Aisha, who is an athletic water fairy and also a first-year student, tends to differ to sources of authority and does not like to rebel against the teachers. Terra is a shy Earth fairy, Sam’s, played by Jacob Dudman, sister and Flora’s cousin. In the original series, she was not a part of the Winx Club instead, Flora was a part of it, however, in this version, she has replaced Flora. Even though she was raised in Alfea, she has trouble connecting with her dorm mates, especially Musa. Musa is an introverted mind fairy who can feel other people’s emotions. Due to this, she distances herself from other people. She is also a first-year student and Terra’s roommate.

There is also Beatrix, an air fairy who can manipulate electricity. She is a first-year student with advanced powers. She knows more about Alfea’s dark history and Bloom’s mysterious origins than any other character her age. She is romantically involved with Riven, a second-year Specialist student who is Sky’s best friend. Then there is Farah Dowling, the headmistress of Alfea, who is working to protect her students from threats beyond Alfea’s boundary. Lastly, there is Rosalind, The previous headmistress of Alfea, who shares a mysterious connection with Bloom.

Season Recap

The season begins with a farmer going to check on his livestock, only to find one dead. He is then attacked by a mysterious entity, which we later learn is a Burned One. After Bloom comes to her new school, she goes into the woods alone during the orientation party to practice controlling her powers. She inevitably loses control and is saved by Aisha, who theorizes that she is a changeling. Bloom then goes back to her room, where she finds Stella, who gives her a ring which can teleport her to the First World. Bloom uses the ring to go talk to her parents and, while returning, is attacked by a Burned One. She is then rescued by Dowling, Aisha, Terra, and Musa but loses Stella’s ring. She then asks Dowling if she is a changeling but does not get a proper answer. When Stella finds out that she lost her ring, she manipulates Bloom, Terra, and Sky into helping her find it. Meanwhile, Riven and Beatrix try to find out what Dowling is hiding, and Silva gets injured in an attempt to capture a Burned One. He is found by Bloom and her friends, and Terra treats him while Bloom chases a Burned One. Bloom and Aisha knock it out and get the ring back. Meanwhile, Beatrix tells Dowling that Silva was injured and once she leaves, searches her office and find a secret room.

Bloom later dreams of a woman and believes it is the fairy who left her on Earth. She then learns that the woman is Rosalind. At a Specialists party, she is told that Stella blinded her best friend after she flirted with Sky, and this information scares her. Meanwhile, Silva’s condition worsens, and Bloom and her friends, along with Dowling, kill the Burned One that injured him in order to save him. In the meantime, Beatrix goes into the hidden room and kills Dowling’s assistant in the process. Later it is revealed that Rosalind is being held captive in the secret room. After all this, Stella’s mother arrives and pulls Stella out of school. Beatrix then manipulates Bloom, and the two start to look for hidden information in the school. They find a map with Aster Dell marked on it, and Beatrix tells her that it was a place that Dowling and some others destroyed to kill the Burned Ones with no regard for collateral damage. Bloom then thinks that her biological parents were a part of the collateral damage, and Beatrix manipulates her by saying that Rosalind is an ally who is alive and being held captive. Before she could say anything else, she is detained by Dowling, and Bloom lies and tell the headmistress that they were just on a joyride.

After this, Bloom plots Beatrix’s escape. Beatrix then offers Bloom access to Rosalind if she is freed while Sky spies on her. Musa, Stella, and Terra plan a way to help Bloom without helping Beatrix and Aisha wants no part of this plan. Sky then confronts Bloom and tells her the truth about his spying when he catches her conjuring up magic to help Beatrix. He wants them to trust each other, after which Bloom kisses him and drugs him unconscious. Meanwhile, Alfea is about to be swarmed by Burned Ones, and Bloom confronts Dowling about Aster Dell. Dowling then tells her they Rosalind manipulated them into destroying Aster Dell, while Terra and Musa break out Beatrix and then go with Bloom and Stella to break out Rosalind. They free Rosalind, and the others prepare to battle the Burned Ones.

Rosalind then tells Bloom that her parents are alive and that the Burned Ones are targeting her for her powers. Bloom realizes she is being used when Rosalind tries to activate her full potential. She leads the Burned Ones away and meets Sky, and the two kiss before she activates her full power and kills the all the Burned Ones. Bloom and her friends then go back to the First World and tell her parents the truth. Meanwhile, Silva tells Sky and he killed Andreas, and Rosalind escapes. In the end, the Solarians arrive with Andreas, who is very much alive, and they arrest Silva for the attempted murder of Andreas. Rosalind and Dowling confront each other in the woods, and Rosalind tells her that the Dragon Flame burns inside Bloom. After which, she seems to kill Dowling and take over Alfea along with Andreas.

Fate The Winx Saga Season 2: Release Date

Unfortunately, Season 2 will not be releasing anytime too soon. As the second season finished filming is November 2021, it could not be released in January like the first season. The second season might premiere in the summer of 2022, at the earliest. It may release between May and July, however, it might get pushed back since Stranger Things Season 4 may release around that time as well. If we take Outer Banks Season 3 into consideration as well, which may release around that time as well, Fate: The Winx Saga might be looking at a fall release. Ultimately we predict that if the second season does not release between May and July, it will definitely release in the fall.

What to expect?

When it comes to what we can expect from the second season, it will be interesting to see how Bloom deals with the fact that she is a changeling, that her biological parents might still be alive, and the fact that she is basically the most powerful fairy to ever exist. We will have to see how she and her friends take back control of Alfea from Rosalind and Andreas, with Sky probably having to go against his own father. Stella will also have to go against her own mother to protect her school, and the group will have to save Silva. We have also left to see what they do about Beatrix and if Sky will manage to pull Riven out from his “Beatrix trance”.
