Scream fan art from BossLogic sees Ghostface face off against Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday and Thing from Netflix’s Addams Family spinoff series.
Wednesday Addams faces off against Scream’s Ghostface killer in a fan-made poster from BossLogic.
Shared by BossLogic on Twitter, the poster shows Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday and Thing facing off against Ghostface, with the disembodied hand stabbing the iconic killer in the back. The official Twitter for the Scream franchise retweeted the poster, writing, “Let’s see who’s better at stabbing.”
Ortega stars in both the Scream and Wednesday franchises; the actor appeared as Tara Carpenter in 2022’s Scream, the fifth entry in the slasher franchise, and as the titular Addams in Netflix’s Wednesday. The first trailer for Scream IV revealed the franchise’s New York City location, as well as the return of the fifth film’s survivors, Samantha and Tara Carpenter, played by Melissa Barrera and Ortega, respectively. Returning cast members also include Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Hayden Panettiere, Courteney Cox, Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra and Samara Weaving.
Scream Returns For a Sixth Entry
Following the box office success of 2022’s Scream, Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group announced that a sixth Scream movie had been greenlit. Along with a new locale, Scream VI will also see a new version of the iconic Ghostface mask. In previous photos from the new film, revealed by co-directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the killer has traded in the all-white mask for a more weathered, grittier version.
“It will all make sense in the context that you see it in the movie,” Gillett said of the new mask’s significance. “That was another one of the really interesting risks and creative approaches in this movie. It’s meta in a different way, and the mask very much factors into that.” Bettinelli-Olpin added, “It was not an arbitrary choice.”
As for Wednesday, the hit Addams Family spinoff series is set to return to Netflix for a second season. Created by Al Gough and Miles Millar, Wednesday is a live-action supernatural mystery series directed by Tim Burton that follows the eponymous Wednesday through her years as a student at Nevermore Academy. The show premiered on Netflix in November 2022 with generally positive reviews, with most fans and critics praising Ortega’s performance.
Overall, Wednesday marked the second-biggest premiere in Netflix’s history with over 6 billion minutes viewed in its first week on the platform, coming second to Season 4 of Stranger Things, which garnered 7.2 billion minutes in the same amount of time. Consisting of eight episodes, Wednesday sees the titular Addams as she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, stop a monstrous killing spree terrorizing the local town of Jericho and solve a 25-year-old mystery.
Scream VI arrives in theaters on March 31, 2023. The first season of Wednesday is currently available to stream on Netflix. Season 2 does not yet have a release date.
