Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 star Bradley Cooper recently shared that he would gladly join the DC Universe if James Gunn offered him a role.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the Los Angeles premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Cooper was asked if he’d be interested in joining the DCU now that Gunn is running DC Studios with Peter Safran. “I go wherever James tells me,” said Cooper, who voices Rocket Raccoon in the Guardians trilogy. While the actor/director hasn’t given much thought as to which DC character he’d like to play or direct in a project, he did share that he was a huge fan of Peacemaker, the television series Gunn wrote and partially directed for HBO Max. “I love Peacemaker. I love that series he did,” admitted Cooper. “I thought it was incredible. Blew me away. I’m just glad he’s working, making movies and television.”

Cooper isn’t the first Guardians of the Galaxy actor to express interest in following Gunn over to DC. Karen Gillan, who portrays Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, previously shared that she would be keen to bring Poison Ivy to life on the big screen. “I always thought that Poison Ivy was really fun,” remarked Gillan. The actor also shared that she would accept almost any role that Gunn offered her: “Honestly, if James asked me to play an alien that sits in the background of a shot and doesn’t talk, I would say yes [laughs]. Because working with him has been one of the great joys of my career so far.”

An MCU Star Is in Superman: Legacy

With Vol. 3 now in theaters, Gunn will turn his attention entirely to the DCU. The DC Studios boss is both writing and directing Superman: Legacy, which will be both a reboot of the Superman film series and the first film released under the revamped DCU. While no casting for the film has been announced, Gunn recently revealed on Twitter that a Guardians actor will appear in the upcoming movie. Responding to a fan who tweeted, “Will any cast member for Gotg be in Superman Legacy?,” Gunn wrote, “Yes.”

The Guardians Blast Off to Save Rocket

In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the beloved band of misfits’ lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. This will bring the cosmic team in direct conflict with both Adam Warlock (Will Poulter) and the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji).

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is currently playing in theaters.
