2023 looks set to be a big year for Xbox, and fans can learn more about several highly anticipated releases in the upcoming Developer_Direct.

Xbox’s first-party output has been a hot topic for debate recently. Despite not releasing any AAA exclusives in 2022, Game Pass still had a great year, allowing many smaller and more unique titles to take the limelight. 2023 looks set to be different, however, with numerous big releases on the horizon for Xbox fans. With the excitement for these games only growing, Xbox has recently announced a Developer_Direct live stream, which will give fans some new updates for these titles.

Those who are hoping for news about Starfield, the highly anticipated new IP from Bethesda, will have to wait a little longer, however, as Xbox announced that an event specifically dedicated to the space RPG would be shown at a later date. Still, the Developer_Direct has a lot to entice fans, with updates focusing on The Elder Scrolls Online, Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends and Redfall. Here’s how to watch the live stream and what to expect from the show.

The Elder Scrolls Online has been flourishing since its 2015 re-release. The latest big update came in January of 2022 and let players visit the new High Isle location, bringing with it new quests and characters. Fans of the MMORPG will be excited to hear that the game’s Studio Director, Matt Firor, will appear at the Direct to unveil the latest updates, including new playable regions of Tamriel. But that’s not all — Xbox has also confirmed that the Developer_Direct will be immediately followed by a standalone The Elder Scrolls Online Chapter Reveal Event, which will give fans a deeper look into the upcoming changes.

The eighth entry into the Forza Motorsport franchise is a reboot of the original Forza Motorsport, which was released back in 2005. Turn 10 Studios has built the upcoming entry from the ground up to take full advantage of the Xbox Series X|S. Unlike the more arcade and soapbox-style Forza Horizon, Forza Motorsport looks set to become Microsoft’s most immersive racing sim yet and will appeal to those who want a more authentic driving experience. Xbox has promised that the Developer_Direct will include more gameplay footage and new details about the upcoming racing sim.

Minecraft Legends is a third-person action-strategy game that will bring the iconic block-building and resource management gameplay to a new genre with a more focused story. The PvP multiplayer experience is launching in Spring 2023, and Mojang Studios, alongside Blackbird Interactive, will be at Xbox’s Developer_Direct to give fans some new details, including new gameplay, for the upcoming title. This refreshing new entry into the franchise could prove to be exactly what Minecraft needs to both entice a new audience and keep current players excited and involved in the world.

Finally, Xbox has confirmed that Arkane Austin, the much-loved creators of the highly acclaimed Dishonored, Deathloop and Prey, will also appear at the Developer_Direct. The studio has been working on a new IP, the supernatural co-op-focused FPS, Redfall. The game will launch day one on Game Pass, allowing many fans to jump right into the experience. The live stream promises to increase the hype by revealing new details about the game’s combat, customization, bosses and open world, including several minutes of new gameplay.

Many gamers are incredibly excited by this new project, but some have reservations about the game’s focus on co-op, worrying that it may dilute the single-player experience that has made Arkane’s games so popular in the past. Luckily, the upcoming Direct will focus on both the multiplayer and single-player elements, so fans can learn more about how each of these experiences may differ and what each has to offer. Overall, the Developer_Direct looks set to springboard Xbox’s year brilliantly and build excitement for the months ahead.
