Corinne Foxx, the daughter of Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx, shuts down recent rumors about her father’s health by offering an encouraging update.

Via her Instagram stories, Foxx posted a screenshot of an article claiming her family was bracing for the worst following his health complication while claiming Jamie was still hospitalized. She immediately addressed the report, saying it’s “sad to see how the media runs wild,” before confirming her father “has been out of the hospital for weeks” and keeping active. Foxx also thanked everyone for their love, support and best wishes on her family’s behalf before teasing an “exciting work announcement” for next week.

Jamie Foxx’s Health Scare

Corinne broke the news of Jamie’s sudden “medical complication” on Apr. 11 that was quickly attended to by medical personnel. “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” she said in an Instagram post. “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.” Foxx’s family has not publicized where he suffered the medical emergency or what the complication was, though some reports claimed the acclaimed actor and singer suffered a stroke.

Jamie Foxx released his first statement since his undisclosed health scare on May 3 via Instagram, insisting he appreciated the love and was “feeling blessed.” At the time of his medical emergency, Foxx was filming his Netflix movie, Back in Action, alongside fellow acting veteran Cameron Diaz, an action comedy film directed by Community and The Office helmer Seth Gordon. After he was hospitalized, body doubles were reportedly used to film the rest of his scenes.

Along with filming Back in Action, Foxx has been working with his daughter on the Fox musical game show Beat Shazam since 2017, with Jamie as the host and Corinne as the DJ. Earlier this month, it was announced fellow actor Nick Cannon would assume guest hosting duties in Jamie’s absence while talk show host Kelly Osbourne steps in for Corinne as guest DJ.

Jamie is best known for his Oscar-winning role as legendary musician Ray Charles in the 2004 biopic Ray, winning Best Actor for his performance. He’s also known for playing Maxwell “Max” Dillon/Electro in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Jamie is scheduled to appear in a slew of 2023 feature film titles, including Strays and God Is a Bullet.
