The cast of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 had some ideas about Kraglin and Nebula’s relationship that didn’t make it into the final cut.
In a video documenting a week of her life while playing Nebula, actor Karen Gillan is seen on the set of Guardians Vol. 3 interacting with an off-screen Sean Gunn, who plays Kraglin. After saying a line fans will recognize from the finished movie, “Kragula back in action,” Gunn remarks, “That’s our couple name!” Both actors stay in character to debate the point, with Gunn suggesting the alternative name “Neblin” and Gillan affirming that Nebula’s name should come first. Gunn, as Kraglin, then goes on to ask if that means they’re engaged and encourage her to consider it, as he’s been married fourteen times and “it’s great, believe me!”
Could Kragula Become a Guardians of the Galaxy Reality?
Gillan and Gunn have been respectively portraying Nebula and Kraglin since the first movie in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, but the two characters have never shared much screen time. After a humorous scene between them in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, some fans warmed to the idea of Nebula and Kraglin in a romantic relationship and gave them the “couple name” Kragula, just as Gunn stated in Gillan’s BTS clip. Since the future for both of them was left open at the end of Vol. 3, it’s entirely possible that the Marvel Cinematic Universe may yet see them together — assuming that Nebula’s supposed crush on Peter Quill doesn’t get in the way.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the final film in the MCU space opera series, completing the stories of the original band of misfits and establishing a new team led by Rocket Raccoon, the cybernetically engineered superintelligent raccoon whose tragic past was at the center of the movie. Rocket is voiced by Bradley Cooper and brought to life by special effects based on the movements of Sean Gunn, who plays the dual role along with his former Ravager Kraglin.
