Home Improvement star Pamela Anderson alleged actor Tim Allen exposed himself to her while they were working on the sitcom.
Per Variety, Anderson wrote about the incident in her upcoming memoir Love, Pamela, specifying that it occurred in 1991 when she was 23. “On the first day of filming, I walked out of my dressing room, and Tim was in the hallway in his robe,” reads the excerpt. “He opened his robe and flashed me quickly — completely naked underneath. He said it was only fair, because he had seen me naked. Now we’re even. I laughed uncomfortably.” While the reasoning is never explicitly stated, Variety speculates that Allen was alluding to Anderson’s Playboy photoshoot.
When asked to comment on the allegations, Allen denied the incident, stating that Anderson’s claims are a fabrication. “No, it never happened. I would never do such a thing,” the actor said. At the time of writing, Anderson has yet to respond in turn.
Anderson’s Hollywood Career
While Anderson is widely recognized for her role in Baywatch, her rise to stardom was arguably heralded by a recurring role in the first two seasons of Home Improvement. Featuring as Lisa, she appeared in the fictional TV series Tool Time as Tim’s Tool Girl. She ultimately left the sitcom to focus on her work in Baywatch wherein she played Casey Jean “C.J.” Parker, one of the show’s longest-standing and most popular characters. Beyond her television work, Anderson has also featured in blockbusters such as Scooby-Doo!, Barb Wire and Scary Movie 3.
Outside of her career, Anderson was also the center of one of Hollywood’s most notorious scandals after her sex tape with then-husband Tommy Lee was shared online. Becoming what many consider to be the first viral video, Anderson and Lee went to extreme lengths to remove the clips and track down the person who originally uploaded them. The pair’s story was chronicled in the Hulu series Pam and Tommy which earned a mixed response from critics and audiences alongside Anderson’s negative response to the show.
“It was already hurtful enough the first time,” Anderson said, when asked about her thoughts on Pam and Tommy. “It’s like one of those things where you’re going, ‘Really?’ People are still capitalizing off that thing?” The actor also confirmed that she declined an offer to be involved in the show’s development.
