What to Expect from The Mandalorian Season 3
The synopsis for The Mandalorian Season 3 teases the heavy focus the new installment will have on the Star Wars government called the New Republic. Additionally, Moff Gideon actor Giancarlo Esposito promised a phoenix rebirth for his villainous character. “You always want to see the phoenix rise from the ashes. Or, you want to see a nefarious villain rise from the ashes,” the actor said. “And believe me, he will.” First appearing in Season 1, Episode 7, “Chapter 7: The Reckoning,” Moff Gideon acted as the main antagonist in Season 2, but Din defeated him in battle during the finale.
While plot details for The Mandalorian Season 3 remain scarce, series creator Jon Favreau hinted that the episodes would follow the different clans across the galaxy, in addition to Din’s redemption arc. “Now, we know that there are other groups of Mandalorians where they have different sets of rules,” Favreau said. “And so these different groups are coming together and we’re going to figure out… the nexus point for all of those communities, of course, is their homeworld from which they’re exiled, which is Mandalore.”
Apart from The Mandalorian, Star Wars: The Bad Batch is currently airing its second season. The sequel and spinoff to Star Wars: The Clone Wars stars Dee Bradley Baker as members of the Bad Batch, a group of clone troopers with genetic mutations. In Season 2, fan-favorite clone Commander Cody from Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith makes an appearance.
The Mandalorian Season 3 premieres on Disney+ on March 1. New episodes of Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 air every Wednesday on Disney+.
