Are you excited about Shining Vale Episode 5? Because Shining Vale’s Fourth Episode was a whirlwind of emotions. Not feelings, but intrigue, followed by disappointment. It wasn’t that the series had frequent flops. It was the areas where it should have succeeded or at the very least struck the mark and didn’t that bother me the most.
Rosemary’s apparent death in Shining Vale and room 237 in The Shining could reveal how and why Rosemary died. Despite four Episodes and more in-depth chats between Pat and Rosemary, little is known about the house’s former occupant’s genuine past. Shining Vale, on the other hand, features numerous easter eggs and connections to Stephen King’s original 1977 novel The Shining as well as Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 film adaptation. Even viewers who have never read the book or watched the film will undoubtedly see some references and recognize repeating themes.
Shining Vale Episode 4 Recap & Similarly With The Shinning
Before diving into Shining Vale Episode 5, let’s quickly do a recap of the previous Episode. Pat Phelps is making progress on her pornographic novel with the help of Rosemary’s Ghost in Episode 4, “So Much Blood.” During a bathtub scene, however, Rosemary forces Pat to write gory death sequences, and when Pat refuses, disaster ensues. Rosemary’s straight razor appears for the first time, but she is just swept beneath the water, and a wealth of blood occurs in the next scene, and Rosemary destroys the mirror in the final version.
A lady called Lorraine Massey committed suicide in a bathtub in both Stephen King’s The Shining and Stanley Kubrick’s version. The most significant difference between the two versions is the room number, which is 217 in the novel and 237 in Kubrick’s film for production reasons. Lorraine Massey died barely two years before the events of the novel, after visiting the Overlook Hotel with a young man with whom she was having an affair, and she ended her life in a similar manner to Rosemary’s initial death in Shining Vale after her boyfriend abandoned her. This shows that Rosemary’s death and motive were linked and that she was most likely dumped by a lover before her death.
Other aspects of Rosemary’s portrayal in Shining Vale Episode 4 reinforce this. When Pat denies her death, she appears to be in a deep state of despair or depression. Earlier in the Episode, Rosemary has Pat construct a scene in the novel in which she flirts with the young counter boy at the local shop before he has to tell her that he can no longer sell her booze. This transaction’s “cutting her off” component is a metaphor for the counter boy abandoning their relationship, which explains her enraged reaction. Now we’ll talk about when Shining Vale Episode 5 will be released and what will happen in it.

Shining Vale Episode 5 Release Date & Preview
Shining Vale Episode 5 will release on 27 March 2022, on STARZ. This Episode is titled “The Squirrel Knew”. It is directed by Catriona McKenzie and written by Jill Blotevogel. Pat will attempt to permanently remove Rosemary from her life in this Episode, but she will instead discover that Terry has been holding a terrifying secret from her. Gaynor will also uncover a secret about Pat that will forever alter her perception of her mother.
The wonderful Judith Light appears as Pat’s (Courtney Cox) passive-aggressive mother, Joan, in Starz’s hilariously caustic horror dramedy Shining Vale this week, making it a little lighter (and even snarkier). Let’s just say that a visit from this grandmother could be worse than a ghost walking the hallways. The woman manages to insult the Phelps’ home, complement her own appearance, and bring up Pat’s affair…to poor Terry, who is already suffering from a bad hangover.
Light is usually a wonderful addition to any performance, but she’s bringing Pat some very crucial information that she hasn’t shared with her family yet. Joan, who has agreed to keep Pat and Terry’s kids for the weekend, shares some family problems with Gaynor in this exclusive clip from Sunday’s Episode, “The Squirrel Knew.” Meanwhile, Grannie’s lover gives little brother Jake the worst gun safety lesson ever.
