Shoresy’s Back! Letterkenny Spinoff Scores Season 2 Renewal

Letterkenny spinoff Shoresy

Hulu announces that a second season of Letterkenny spinoff Shoresy is on the way, with production slated to kick off this spring in Canada.

The Bulldogs are coming back for another season. Hulu has renewed Letterkenny spinoff Shoresy for a second season, which will exclusively air on the streamer in the U.S.

Hulu has announced that Shoresy will be returning for a six-episode Season 2, although a premiere date has not been revealed at this time. Production on the Canadian series is set to begin in Sudbury this spring. Shoresy follows the foul-mouthed, chirp-serving, mother-loving, fan-favorite character, Shoresy (Jared Keeso), and the embattled Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs as they continue their quest to never lose again.

Shoresy is a Canadian comedy series created by and starring Keeso that is produced by New Metric Media in association with Play Fun Games. The first season consisted of six episodes and debuted on Hulu in May 2022. Reception to Shoresy was positive, with critics praising the visual jokes as well as how the show manages to humanize its titular character. The series was also lauded for its realistic depiction of indigenous characters and for inverting the stereotypical gender dynamics in hockey by placing women in power positions.

Will Shorsey Season 2 Introduce Reilly and Jonesy’s Mothers?

Since the Letterkenny spinoff was first announced, fans have been hoping that Shoresy will finally put faces to Reilly and Jonesy’s moms, who Shoresey repeatedly mentions when taunting his fellow hockey players. However, Letterkenny and Shoresey director Jacob Tierney has revealed that Reilly and Jonesy’s moms are unlikely to appear in the spinoff series. “We make reference to it and address it, but when I read it, I wasn’t like, ‘Where are Reilly and Jonesy’s moms in this?!'” he said. “It was clear we were doing something different.” Reilly and Jonesy’s moms are briefly mentioned in the spinoff series when Shoresy is referred to as “the guy infamous for wheeling two of his friends’ moms in Letterkenny.” This leads to the titular hockey player stating, “They’re not my friends, and their moms were wheeling me.”
