The Sims 4 Adds Kits Dedicated to Your Sims Private Parts

A group of excited simmers in The Sims 4.

The Sims 4 announces a new Simtimates update to the long-running, fan-favorite title, entirely dedicated to covering up the Sims’ private parts.

The Sims 4 revealed an underwear and bathroom update set for release soon.

Per Sims Community, The Sims 4 announced new Simtimates Collection and Bathroom Clutter Kits for the game, designed to fashionably cover the simulations’ most inimate parts. The Simtimates Collection will “help any Sim look bold, flirty, & charming in the bedroom with lacey bodysuits, a variety of underwear styles & playful boxer prints.” Images for the collection show Sims of various genders and body types suited in intimate garments, some lacy and others meant for more casual nighttime wear. The Bathroom Clutter Kit adds several novelty items such as dentures in a glass, towels with animal faces and children’s artwork and rugs. Both Kits launch on Jan. 19.

The Sims 4’s Long Life

The Sims 4 is the latest in the long-running series, which began with 2000’s The Sims, itself a branch of the larger Sim series kicked off by 1989’s SimCity. The Sims 4 released in 2014, and in the years since has grown to encompass the main game, two dozen expansion and game packs, as well as a plethora of kits providing different furnishings, clothing options and other accouterments.

Yet, the game continues to evolve. In late Nov. 2022, EA added a profanity filter to the game in response to a slew of offensive content being uploaded to The Sims 4 Gallery. In a statement, EA said, “Our team has reviewed, and made critical updates to, the profanity filter to help prevent this from happening again in the future.” This came only a week after developers patched the game to correct what were described as “overly aggressive/mean Sims” by implementing “a tuning fix to cool down the extra negativity taking place between Sims.”

Though The Sims 4 is still going strong nearly a decade after its release, EA has officially started playtesting on The Sims 5. Officially known as Project Rene, the game was reportedly hacked only days after the playtesting period began. According to the hacker, the process was “real easy,” and involved generating playtester Devuno tokens to gain access to the game without EA’s approval. The game was reportedly not encrypted, which only made it easier for the hacker to get an inside look that they quickly shared footage of on Peer 2 Peer servers.
