The worlds of Usagi Tsukino and Marc Spector come together as a cosplay merges Sailor Moon and Moon Knight into a hero that punishes evildoers in the name of Khonshu.
Seen in a pair of photos shared on Reddit via the r/Cosplay subreddit by user @lisamancinerh, the cosplay is based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s take on the Fist of Khonshu, with the Guardian of Love and Justice’s tiara and unmistakable hairstyle added to the mix — albeit with changes to match the Moon Knight theme — and the mask only covering half of her face. The first photo sees @lisamancinerh in a near-full body shot holding a Crescent Blade to her side, while the second sees her holding it up. The photo also draws more attention to the eerie white contact lenses she’s wearing.
This isn’t the first time Sailor Moon and Moon Knight were fused into a cosplay, as a different Reddit user named JynAndTonicsCosplay shared their own take on the concept in 2022. Additionally, a piece of fan art on Twitter saw Sailor Moon clad in Moon Knight’s costume, with its creator, Mingjue Helen Chen jokingly calling the picture, “the crossover no one asked for.”
Will Moon Knight Return in the MCU?
As for Moon Knight’s future in the MCU, Marvel Studios President/CCO Kevin Feige confirmed that the fan-favorite antihero will pop up in the franchise again. “The fun thing about streaming is [the shows] are there forever, and people can keep re-exploring them,” he remarked while discussing the first wave of Marvel Studios projects for Disney+, which included the character’s limited series. “Moon Knight, same thing. I think there’s a future for that character as we move forward.”
However, regarding a second season of Moon Knight, leading man Oscar Isaac noted, “[Marvel Studios and I] can’t definitively say that [Season 2 is becoming a reality]. I need my teasing abilities. Can’t drain me of those. What a cock tease I am. Always been. We’ll see what happens. But at the moment, there’s no official word.” Prior to these comments, Isaac confirmed that he was in talks with Marvel about such a season, saying at the time, “There have been some specific conversations [about Moon Knight Season 2]. They were pleasant. The spilling of the details is that there’s no details. We don’t know [if there will be a second season], but we’re talking about it.”
Sailor Moon Crystal is streaming on Netflix. Moon Knight Season 1 is streaming on Disney+.
