Literally, since 1938, The Addams Family has been part of the pop culture and has continued to thrive over the years. The iconic horror family probably has done it all: iconic shows, movies, animated series, crossovers with other shows, and whatnot. Even today, the names of Gomez and Morticia Addams and their sons Wednesday and Pugsley with Uncle Fester, Grandma, butler Lurch, and pet Aristotle are kept in memory. So a fresh new air into the family is transitioning in the modern OTT space too. Netflix, in fact, is bringing in a new The Addams Family series in the form of Wednesday, and here we are discussing what it is about? Its release date, and much more.
The Addams Family had many reboots and takes in the recent decades as well. Talking about recent, it was only two years ago when we had a new animated movie about the family. The same is followed into another sequel. But the thing about Netflix’s The Addams Family show is it will be focusing on one intricate character that has stayed on for years. Furthermore, it will tell her story apart from the time she spends with the iconic family. So let’s take a look at what we are in for.
The Addams Family’s Wednesday – What Is It About?
So far, we believe the title of the Addams Family series is enough to tell us what the show will be all about – Wednesday, the daughter of The Addams. But apart from the title, even Netflix had a few things to say about this new series. They describe the coming show as a supernaturally investigative mystery that will take us back to Wednesday’s school days at the Nevermore Academy. A kind of boarding school with a uniqueness of its own in New England.
So yes, we can expect a little of regular teen drama involving a relationship angle, probably. But there is more to this story as Wednesday will be busy solving a mystery that haunts her town. Netflix says the coming Addams Family spin-off will also see Wednesday in the process to master her psychic ability. There are too many mysteries, including a killing spree that haunts the local town. While she spends time-solving this mystery and perfecting herself, she will also be heavily involved in another mystery of its kind revolving around her parents from 25 years ago.
The Addams Family’s Wednesday Cast
For the past few days, intriguing names are joining the cast for The Addams Family Spin-off of Netflix titled Wednesday. Jenna Ortega, popular for Stuck In The Middle and Babysitter: Killer Queen, joins the cast in the lead role of Wednesday. Catherine Zeta-Jone is popular for Zorro movies, and Chicago joins the show as Morticia Addams. Luis Guzman from Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and Narcos join the series as Morticia Addams.
So far, these are the official names announced for the cast of The Addams Family’s Wednesday. The casting names are revealed step by step. There are more characters that will join the show. These include names such as Pugsley Addams, Uncle Fester, Lurch, and probably some newer ones from Nevermore Academy as well. The stars joining in to fill in for that may be announced soon in the coming days. Until then, stay tuned for more about this The Addams Family spin-off.

The Addams Family’s Wednesday Release Date
Netflix has officially not come up to a release date for The Addams Family spin-off Wednesday. The casting process is still on, and there is a lot more to follow up. Still, many of the online portals, fans, and insiders are speculating Wednesday may release on Netflix somewhere in late 2022 or early 2023. Being an iconic horror classic, for our side, we believe the Halloween of 2022 would be the best time to release a show like Wednesday.
The Addams Family’s Wednesday might release on Halloween of 2022. Despite the competition from other horror shows and movies, the series will still thrive one way or another. Furthermore, the nostalgia with an added new adventure and a new look is something the old, as well as the new fans, will be wanting. So far, we know, when The Addams Family’s Wednesday does arrive on Netflix. It will have a total of eight episodes that will compensate for the first season of the series.
